I was born and raised the small farming community of Keremeos, BC and became very involved in music through my school band in grade 7 where I first learned to play my main instrument, the saxophone. I continued playing saxophone throughout high school and would often jam with friends and dabbled with other instruments such as guitar, piano and drums. I went on to complete a diploma in jazz studies at Malaspina University-College (now VIU) in Nanaimo and a music degree and teaching certification from UVic. After finishing University I returned to Keremeos to teach for two years before returning to Victoria and worked at Larsen music, taught private music lessons and started performing with several local bands and eventually landed another contract at Royal Oak while Mrs. Galvao was on a travel leave. I have now returned again to Royal Oak while Mrs. Galvao is on her maternity leave and she will return in September 2019.
